The Boniuk Institute for the Study and Advancement of Religious Tolerance is seeking undergraduate student workers for the Fall 2025 term. This is an exciting opportunity for undergraduates to learn about and contribute to large-scale interdisciplinary research related to religion, religious tolerance, pluralism and discrimination, social inequality, race, gender, science, and health.
The start date for the position is the third week of the new term, Monday, September 8, 2025. The end date for the position is the last day of classes for the fall semester, Friday, December 5, 2025. Position may extend to full academic year.
Students will work under the supervision of Dr. Aishwarya Lakshmi, Associate Director of Operations for the Boniuk Institute, as well as Dr. Kerby Goff, Associate Director of Research for the Boniuk Institute.
Students will assist with a variety of Institute tasks involving research, programming/ events, and social media. For research, tasks involve data collection, analysis, and research administration related to several social science projects, including assisting with reviews of the academic literature, online data collection, collection and processing of qualitative data, and support of article and book writing efforts. Students will also provide programming, event, and social media support for and participate in events of the Boniuk Institute and its center, the Religion and Public Life Center, including: Scholars Meetings (weekly on Thursdays from 9:30-10:30am), monthly Religious and Civic Leader Gatherings, and more. At these events, students will have an opportunity to engage with a wider variety of guests and scholars.
Students will work for 10 hours each week. The starting pay rate for the position is $16 per hour.
